iZotope's Neutron EQ module was designed to be an isotropic, or same-direction, filter, meaning that it operates in the same manner regardless of the direction a signal moves through it. When you're looking at a multi-band equalizer, it is first important to understand that audio processing is an anisotropic, and not isotropic, operation, meaning that the process is applied in a different manner depending on the direction a signal moves through the filter. I'm sure Google will tell you that they didn't really take over Android, but even a software engineer pointed out how that was much closer to reality than Google selling a specific phone operating system. I saw this mention on Bloomberg about Google taking over the entire internet just like it did the phone operating system when it purchased Android. I will wrap up this week's edition with two links and a quick comment on something I saw last week. Also a new Kickstarter for a Canadian toy maker. As for today's, I wanted to include Naughty Dog's Livestream on live streaming on their Twitch channel, and to some surprises. I'll end with some additional links, a few just in the last week, but felt there were some articles that I felt stood out for various reasons. By streaming, audiences get to enjoy the same games they would by downloading them, but they also get to watch and learn from content creators like streamers, play cooperatively with other users, and watch other people play games. But live streaming has other benefits for gamers besides just playing games. The results show the power of live streaming in bringing games to the forefront of a platform. But the industry seems to want to make us play games where the puppet master is the videogame. ![]() You're in charge, but you can't do anything, it's like you're chained to a date who you can't do a thing about. I want to be the puppet master and I want to play a game where I'm the puppet and the puppet master is someone else. ![]() I don't want to play a game where I'm just a puppet, I want to play a game where I'm a puppet and I'm in charge. If we're limited to the confines of the five walls of a world that has been created for us by a handful of people, then what's the point? Why do we play games? I rather thought that the idea behind games is to be the realisation of our childhood dreams, to escape into a world where the only limitation on our creativity is our own imagination.
